The 1975 Endorse Emergency Climate Change Campaign

The 1975 are keeping the conversation about climate change going in every way they can, and their most recent call to action is endorsing a campaign that's fighting to create emergency climate change action.

A music industry collective called Music Declares Emergency is leading the charge and has received 2,000 signatures from record labels, organizations, and musicians willing to help the cause.

“Music Declares Emergency is a group of artists, music industry professionals and organisations that stand together to declare a climate and ecological emergency and call for an immediate governmental response to protect all life on Earth,” the website reads. “We believe in the power of music to promote the cultural change needed to create a better future.”

The band is also promoting a global climate strike that is set to take place September 20-27 around the world through its socials.

This isn't the first time the UK band has been vocal about climate change. They recently released the opening track of their new album Notes on a Conditional Form, which features teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

Aside from the climate change fight, The 1975 have also been outspoken about their stance on women's reproductive rights and joined Planned Parenthood's #BansOffMyBody campaign to protest the growing number of strict abortion laws that are currently being passed in the United States.
